Wiking has already announced their first new items for 2005. Expect these to arrive at hobby shops in late January to early February:
063 40 36 - 2003 VW New Beetle convertible with Tabbert caravan, metallic cyber green w/ivory interior; trailer painted in silver - Following a popular 1950s' design widely known as the "egg" because of its shape, Tabbert introduced a similarly styled small caravan in 2001. Wiking follows suit and adds a nother variation to the successful New Beetle theme.
381 40 28 - Pöttinger JUMBO silage trailer - Wiking expands their line of agricultural equipment by the top-of-the-range silage trailer by Austrian maker Pöttinger to go with Wiking's large farm tractors. The model comes with a number of moving parts. 385 40 33 - 2000 Massey-Ferguson MF 8280 farm-tractor w/front-end loader, red - A decorated driver figure will be included, as well. 862 38 39 - 1962 Magirus Mercur (square-nose) DL25h aerial ladder, crew cab - As previewed at 2004's Nuremberg Toy Fair, Wiking introduce yet another Magirus Mercur fire engine. Now, the square-nose crew-cab is combined with the aerial ladder body that had been produced by Magirus in the 1960s. This is one impressive piece of machinery! 861 07 28 - 1953 Unimog U 401 w/snow-plough, fire brigade - Not only did it get new wheels and tires, Wiking's old 'Mog is enhanced by a new front-end snow-plough just as well. They keep on calling it "411" for unkown reasons, though. 893 01 31 - 1953 Hanomag R16 farm-tractor w/ladder trailer, red - The trailer is a pre-WW2 design that used to be pulled by horses or oxes. It was a common sight behind farm tractors way into the 1960s. 035 12 24 - 1998 VW New Beetle, yellow - One more New Beetle.
