Our newest club newsletter issue (the
infamous missing issue #13) was mailed via first class mail Monday,
May 19, [2003]. You should
start receiving it within a few days depending how far you live (or
how slow your mail service is) from Dallas, Texas. One very important
note is that this is the "makeup" issue that is being sent
to all individual members whose dues are current. This is the first
time we've restricted newsletter mailing to only current, or nearly
current, "paid up" members but this is the policy we will
follow from this point forward. Any member who received a dues notice
that indicated membership dues were not current and who has elected
not to or failed to renew will not be receiving this newsletter. If
your membership dues are current and you don't receive your newsletter
within a reasonable amount of time (probably two weeks within the U.S.)
please send an inquiry to [email protected] to
make sure we show your dues current and that we included your name
when we generated the mailing labels. While we're still transitioning
these duties to Keith Raikes, we ask you folks for a little extra patience.
We will definitely send issue #13 to anyone we missed and want to make
sure we've got it all correct for issue #16; you definitely don't want
to miss it or even have your copy delayed!
The very good news is that Keith's very dedicated effort
to update everyone's dues status has now allowed us to schedule publication
of this year's newsletters in June (issue #16), August (issue #17), and
November (issue #18). Our publishing schedule for 2004 will be April,
August, and November and you can count it being published in those months!!
The current newsletter, issue #13, is the last issue
before we go to a new editorial format and greatly expanded editorial
staff. Your pending newsletter will contain a cover letter that explains
some of the changes and the improvements you may expect beginning with
issue #16 in June! [posted 05/19/2003]
