Here's another look at the layout Henry Yee is currently working
on that will represent New York City in the
1950's.
"But," he says, "unfortunately most of my work is in boxes and
will not be up until benchwork
is completed in 2004 when my house is built to house the layout. In the
meantime, I have assembled and kitbashed vehicles. This "mock
lay up/set up" took just "5
minutes" to arrange
and set up. Since it had a mirror, this was shot on my kitchen table!"
Note the following - taxis, buses, a hot dog vendor, a subway station
(the final layout will have a running subway on a viaduct). The buses
are APM and the City Taxis are Magnuson kits. Henry plans to have about
20 buses and, if you can believe it, 100 taxis along with 400 other
vehicles on the layout. There will also be 150+ working lights; street
lights, traffic lights, and billboards. "After all", he says, "New
York City is a huge city!" Also shown in Photo
Gallery 110.
