Here's a different view of Uli Heuf's Freightliner FLD-120 and B-train;
this photo shows the first step of the dumping process. Check the photo
collage of the entire process (warning: large file). The
truck tractor cab and hood are from Jim Groeneweg at Jacobs models.
It is mounted on
a Promotex
chassies
(of
course with
steering)
with
A-line
fuel tanks
with scratchbuilt steps and other detail parts. Painting on the cab
is dark blue metallic and white with Microscale decals from the "Gorden
Trucking" sheet and a red stripe.
The trailers are built out of several parts with bulk units from AMW.
The first bulk unit is positioned on a sled, that slides over the saddle
for the second trailer when it´s going to unload. The sled is
pushed - like the original - by two huge hydraulic cylinders. Painting
is a medium blue for the chassis, and aluminium silver for the bulk
units. Decals are from the same sheet mentioned before. The cover of
the bulk units is cut out of a plastig bag. Several parts out of Uli's "famous
parts box" were added. The name "la croix" is fictional.
