This model of a mid-1960s GMC "New Look" transit coach, by
Mr. Bev Fitzpatrick, won the Bus & Coach category at the 2000 East Coast Meet. The model, built in 1973, is made of balsa
wood with windows made from Dictaphone tape and features a working suspension
made from ballpoint ink pen springs. Painted in the livery of Valley
Metro, the Roanoke, Virginia transit authority where Bev calls home.
The lights were made from the heads of straight pins and the wheels
are from ROCO Mini-Tanks.
