This model of a 1918 FWD tank truck was built from scratch in 2002 based on scale plans by Precision Scale. It was built with styrene, brass wire, and scale lumber. The wheels were made up using the centers from Grandt Line 43" cable sheaves and 7/16" plastic tubing, filed down and painted to represent cast "steel" wheels and solid rubber tires. The model was first painted and then weathered with dry colors and chalk for that old, rusty look. The driver and passenger figures are by Preiser. The 1918 FWD featured four wheel drive.
