This Freightliner Coronado from Jim Groeneweg began as the Siku die-cast
model and features a chassis that is a modified Athearn with scratchbuilt
running boards. The body has only
minor
changes
including
side extenders
and filing
the
correct
headlight contour in between the lights (hard to see in the photos).
The
fuel tanks and running boards were lowered to allow the gap between
the cab and
tanks. The windshield is out of a Mercedes Benz Actros and the side
glass is acetate (both flush mounted). Mirror detail and grab handles
are from
brass wire
and
plastic. Chrome is a combination of Alclad and Bare Metal Foil. Front
wheels
are A-Line, rears are Dennis Aust; detail decals are from A-Line and
Pen
Bay. All paint is base clear auto paint.
