This is a Ford Aeromax 120 built using a cab and side skirts from
High Speed (Boley). The wheels are made of resin. For a more realistic
appearance a Herpa steering setup was installed on the truck tractor.
The chassis is a Herpa/Promotex product. The trailer is
a six axle 50' heavy
duty Nooteboom trailer, built from a resin kit by the German model
manufacturer
VK-Modellbahnzubehör. Four of the six axles of the Nooteboom trailer
model are
steerable as well as on the prototype. Therefore this rig can drive
through very
small curve radii or can turn on very narrow places. The trailer axles
1, 4, 5 and 6 (counting from the front) are
steerable. The cargo load consists of five pieces of copper-pipe tarped
with a paper-handkerchief. The photo was taken on Ralf's truck stop
layout.
The truck tractor was also shown in Photo
Gallery
177.
