Chester Fesmire tells us he recently saw this configuration, with
a much newer cab, in his town. He writes that he was
taken by two things. One, it had a remarkable posture, being right
next to
the real thing, it struck him as such a formidable rig. And secondly,
it was
clean! This time of year (middle of winter), something remarkable around
Maine as well. The model is an Athearn Freightliner on a chassis from
a dime
store toy. It has
a visor from Herpa (actually for a MAN) and an airfoil, fuel tanks, chain
boxes and safety striping from A-line. Wheels are from Boley, mirrors from
Plano and the box is from Athearn. Decals by Microscale and it's an
automotive lacquer white with an acrylic clear coat.
