This unusual model of a 1911 Remington was recently built
from scratch. The inspiration for the model was taken
from a photo in the book, "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of American
Trucks". The cab was made with styrene and brass
and the deck was built up from scale lumber stained with
model paints and weathered with charcoal and chalk. Wheels
are modified Circus Craft wagon wheels with file-shaped 7/16" plastic
tubing added for the tires. A driver figure was added to the
Remington from Preiser. The vintage
taxi being carried on the deck was built by modifying an
old Snapperroo kit of an early Packard automobile
back in the 1970s.
