Jim Groeneweg tells us this is another one out of the archives; the
Kenworth tractor is a Yatming or Road Champs originally that has been
somewhat modified. This truck is
a little foggy as it was along time ago that it was done. Jim says
it looks to him it has a Cox (Peterbilt) frame modified to accept
LeeTown
tires/wheels
with Herpa battery boxes and mirrors. The 60" Aerodyne bunk was
cut down to a flat top (too bad now) and was painted in the Trojan
color scheme. The scene here is likely a "resold" truck or
the owner decided to change from steel hauling to container hauling.
This would be a typical set up to haul container in the late 70's early
80's.
The containers are of course the Athearn units paired up with an A-Line convertor
dolly that has been painted to match the container chassis. Below is a closer
view of the chassis and dolly.
