British modeler Andy Park used some very creative decal splicing to
create this Northern Suffolk tanker. This is a fairly box standard
Herpa Scania 144.530 tractor unit but Andy glued
the
front
grille
to
the cab
and filled
the
whole
front
panel area, sanded it back and painted it Humbrol Satin Coal Black,
along with the 56m3 pneumatic silo tanker.
He then chopped a set of Microscale "Norfolk Southern" railroad
loco decals to make a fictional British company named Northern Suffolk
(the neighbouring county to where Andy lives, which also borders the
original county of Norfolk.... still following?!).
The legend "nur fur lebensmittel" on the tank is German but
understood throughout
Europe and means for foodstuffs only - the TL decals flags are supposed
to denote some of the countries the rig runs to (the flags being Portugal,
Greece, Czech, Spain, Poland, Denmark, Turkey and Norway in case you're
interested). Andy says this is the only fictional model in his collection
but he just really liked the NS livery!
