This pair of GMC Topkicks from Ed Saunders each started
out as different models. Ed cut and sliced together the two different
trucks. The red and white trucks were both dump trucks in their former
lives. Ed first cut the red one behind the cab making two parts, a long
rear section and a short front section. The white one was done just
the opposite with long front frame with cab and a short rear frame with
drive axles and fifth wheel. Ed added the short drive axle frame to
the red cab and the long drive axle frame section to the white cab.
The red one was then hooked to a scratchbuilt 3-axle drop deck lowboy
trailer made from an underframe of a 42 foot moving van trailer with
a Liebherr crawler loader on it. Ed then had a short wheelbase red GMC
Topkick tractor and a long wheel base white GMC Topkick for utility
use.
