This tractor from Gary Walton is a Herpa Freightliner
FL10464 detailed with A-Line fuel tanks and front wheels, Alloy Forms
drive wheels, and Microscale decals. The stack was fabricated from Evergreen
Styrene rods. Basically a stock tractor detailed with contrasting paint.
The reefer is an Accurail 45' van based kit. It was highly modified
to match a circa 1985 Great Dane reefer designed specifically for TDS
rail service. Lonestar Models tires were mounted on custom painted A-Line
wheels. A-Line's reefer fuel tank was mounted on A-line's trailer floor/suspension.
Landing gear was a stock Stoughton gear from a Walthers 48' van modified
to Great Dane specs using styrene strip. A Thermo King "Rail Mount"
reefer was scratchbuilt using Evergreen Styrene, home-made decals, and
etched stainless mesh from Details By Eric. A combination of several
Microscale decal sheets finished off the van. This photo was taken as
an "as delivered" trailer fresh from the factory before Gary
started applying his signature weathering!
