Randy Sawyer scratchbuilt this nice 1/87 scale model of a 1926 Autocar Dump Truck recently based on an illustration found in the book, "Handbook of Automobiles 1925-1926". Styrene and brass were used to build the cab, chassis, and dump box. The wheels are from a Jordan American LaFrance Pumper rounded over with a small file to represent early balloon tires. The model features an opening rear gate, and operating lift, a driver figure by Preiser, and measures approximately 2-3/16" long. Fifteen hours were spent on this project.
