Here is a picture of a 1/87 scale model of an Oshkosh Truck produced in 1918. According to Randy, the Oshkosh was the first truck with fully adjustable windshield and windows and a completely enclosed cab. The Oshkosh was a four-wheel-drive truck. The model was scratchbuilt in September, 2006 from an illustration found in the book, "American Truck Spotters Guide 1920-1970". Styrene and brass were used to build the chassis, cab, and hood. Scale lumber was utilized in making the deck. The wheel rims came from a Jordan American LaFrance Pumper, and the tires are shaped and stretched plastic tubing. Humbrol Enamel #88 Dark Green was used on the body after thinning and adding a little #67 Charcoal Black. The decking was stained with thinned down Humbrol #67 and # 94 and dusted with dry pigments and charcoal.
