The enclosed photo was taken on Jim Dias’s Western Pacific model railroad layout, circa 1938. The scene depicts the delivery of a new boiler to the boiler house of the Feather River Lumber Company. Jim built the 1938 Ford COE from a Sylvan kit. The crane is from the Rio Grande Models Universal Crane kit. He scratchbuilt the outriggers from styrene and wire. The delivery truck is a Lee Town Mack with a Rio Grande Models boiler on the bed. Joe Piazza created the 1938 California plates.
