First-time contributor Eckart Rübener scratchbuilt this model of a Maxim 100 ft Tiller Aerial of the Boston Fire Department as it looked about 1982. Boston had aquired several of these ladder trucks in the first half of the 1970s. All were painted red on delivery but the majority of them, including Ladder 25, were repainted to the highly controversial lime green color around 1980. Eckart built this model in the early 1990s. It uses Herpa wheels on Roco steering axles, portable ladders by Roco, a modified aerial from the Playart American LaFrance ladder truck and numerous accessories available at that time. Everything else was made from plastic sheets. Lettering was hand-painted.
