This trailer model from André Giroux is based on a prototype from a Quebec company named ABS. The unloading is done by one horizontal conveyor (see the company's web site www.abs-remorques.qc.ca). The conveyer is located in the middle on the bottom of the trailer. This method allows greater safety during the unloading of materials by minimizing the possibilities of tipping over the side that might occur with a dump trailer or dump truck and it allows also greater control of the speed of unloading. The external coating is stainless steel and there is a space of air insulating between the interior wall (which is finished out of plastic) and exterior wall and thus reduces the risk of having material to stick to it. The model that André built is the # RC-248 (48'-0") with a capacity loading of 50 cu/yd or a payload of 82,500 lbs. The tarp on this model is a retractable type. The whole of the model's construction is of styrene, except the fenders (made of thin aluminum plate .008" from K&S Engineering, engraved and rounded). All wheels and tires are from Lonestar Models with the exception of the singles that are from Promotex. The landing gear is from an Athearn container chassis. The paint is from Model Master and plating from Alclad II Chromium.
