1978 FWD CB44 With Salt Spreader - By David Flynn

This 1978 FWD CB44 with a salt spreader body was built by Dave Flynn from a resin kit he bought on eBay. Dave modified the front windows in the cab to look more prototypical. The kit's original hood and fenders were more typical of 1980s FWDs so he made his own to get the right taper to the hood. Dave used a Roco military chassis, Wiking wheels for the front, and Boley wheels for the rear. A Hot Wheels Oshkosh spreader body, modified with a cab protector, conveyor belt, lights, and spreader assembly was added. The hood, fenders, and bumper were all fashioned from sheet plastic. The headlights are from an old Roco accessories kit. The directional lights are from an Atlas Ford LNT-9000 truck. The plow hoist was built from various pieces of channel and sheet plastic. The decals are homemade decals; David says he made a sheet plastic grille but liked the look of a decal more. The interior is from a Boley truck.
