Some of the very best modeling in our scale will be on display at the 2013 East Coast Meet in W. Springfield, Massachusetts coming up January 26-27, 2013. One very good example is this brass truck mounted crane almost completely scratchbuilt by Wade Roese. This is a model of a Clark-Lima TC7700 300 ton truck crane with 220 ft. boom and 70 ft. jib. The model was scratchbuilt in brass, YCC and Athearn sheaves, Ralph Ratcliffe Models wheels and Athearn tires. The model consists of approximately 725 individual pieces and 800+ hours of construction with reference information and photos from Clark/Lima. The model has three working drums, extendable outriggers, six working removable jacks, swing out cab, positionable gantry and working boom hoist, functional boom stop, sliding boom foot, removable counterweights, and hand lettering. The model weighs approximately 3.5 lbs. (that's 1150 tons real world). Wade says, "Oh well the weight is not to scale!"
