This Averitt Express rig from the mid '80s is one of Gary Smith's latest models. The model was built using a Promotex Peterbilt 362 and 48' van trailer. The tractor wheelbase was shortened to 144". The wheels, tires, fuel tanks, trailer suspension and landing gear were replaced with A-Line detail parts. Gary used the following to finish his fleet truck model:
