This B&P Motor Express R model Mack is a stock Athearn truck tractor with a scratchbuilt and kitbashed Convert-A-Van from two rack side flatbed trucks offered by A-Line. The trailer, popular in the '60s, had a fixed nose cowling, a tarp, and side and rear door panels that when set up was an enclosed open top trailer. When knocked down, it served as a flatbed. The nose enclosure served as storage for the panels, tarp, etc. when used as a flat. The complete construction process is in the September issue (#49) of Model Freightways. The trailer and the tractor feature the latest Lonestar Models' water slide owner-operator decals.
