Dennis Raper built this Mack
R600 logging truck using a Mack R truck tractor from Athearn and a scratchbuilt Kent folding pole trailer. The truck started as a cement mixer truck. Dennis removed the mixer barrel, shortened the frame, removed the front bumper, and scratchbuilt a new one. He also added a modified Dennis Aust headache rack, a trailer suspension, mud flaps, deck plate, frame step, tool box, antennae, and bug deflector. Dennis used the center point suspension from a Herpa log trailer and scratchbuilt the rest of the trailer. The load of hardwood pulp was "harvested" from the woods behind his house. These trailers are common throughout the southeastern United States.
