This nostalgic model from John Christie is of his hometown Owen Sound (Ontario, Canada) Fire Department's former Pumper Number 2, a 1947 International KB8/Sterling 500 GPM unit. Delivered in '48, the truck was actually built in Owen Sound by Sterling Machine. It served until the early 1980s! Sterling built a number of Canadian fire trucks between 1947 and '52 using American Marsh pumps. The model has an Imex die-cast cab and chassis (cut down) and a Sheepscot pumper body also reduced in length. John added many details from bits and pieces from the parts box.
