Taking the overall top spot and 1st place in the Facebook 1/87 Scale Vehicle Models' group 2017 Build Challenge is this 1960 Ford F250 Holmes 500 wrecker built by Tom Hart that started its life as a Classic Metal Works 1960 Ford box truck (shown in bottom photo). The box was removed, frame shortened, hood and door were cut open. A detailed engine compartment was added including engine, radiator, battery box, exhaust pipes, etc. An interior was built with new steering wheel, pedals, and "tree" (column mounted) shifter. A Trident tow bed was added along with Don Mills photo-etched mirrors. The Holmes 500 boom and steering mechanism were scratchbuilt. Steps, tow wheels, antennae, handrails and other details were added along with paint and a weathering job to finish it off. Our congratulations to Tom for his win!
