Here's another view of Karl Fasolino's Waste
Management garbage packer. The only commercial parts used were the White
cab and chassis (Promotex); all the rest is scratchbuilt. Compactor/Packer
body, lift arms and cab hood are hand poured resin from Karl's molds
that he made. Chains, front cab ladder, side body ladder, hydraulics
and lift arm details (at top) are all made from brass. Decals are custom
made. The exhaust pipes are white metal. The model was painted with
an airbrush and the details hand painted. Weathered using Rust-All,
grimy black drybrushing and Weather-All solutions. Additional details
include rear tail light lenses, custom caution sign, license plates,
and beacon lights. Karl claims it took him about 4 hours to build from
casting to weathering. First displayed in Photo
Gallery 74.
